5+++ stars!!!!!This was my first Christina Lee read. It is only .99 this weekend on Amazon and it was on my TBR so I thought I'd give it a try.
I loved Dean and Cassie right from the get go so I thought I'd enjoy the book. Callum is the broody, big brother of Cassie's who is majorly in the closet. He has one friend, and once in awhile hook up, Jason, who knows he is gay. He is immediately attracted to Dean. The problem, besides no one knowing he's gay? Dean is pretending to be Cassie's boyfriend while they visit her family for a wedding.
Dean is also attracted to Callum but Callum is giving him a hard time because he thinks Dean is a "city boy" who looks down on his family for the hunting they do. This is part of the family's livelihood and Dean gets that but he's also a vegetarian who thinks hunting is immoral.
It started with a kiss! Dean and Callum would run in the mornings and during one run Callum kisses Dean. He basically attacks his mouth! So hot!!! Of course he feels horrible because he thinks he just kissed his sisters boyfriend. But Dean kissed him back so that also confuses him. Luckily Dean explains later the whole situation and there is a lot of hot making out.
The main problem, besides Callum being in the closet, is that Dean lives in the city and Callum is in the country in another state. How do they meld their different lives together? I teared up a few times for these guys, especially while reading their goodbye notes.
Let me tell you, I wasn't expecting hot and heavy but I was fanning myself! The sex scenes were perfectly placed and had just the right amount of action without becoming repetitive. This isn't always done in my opinion. Ms Lee hit it out of the ballpark!!!
I have to add major props for featuring Raleigh because I live on the outskirts. Love seeing the city here!!!
I fell in love with this book and its characters! Even the supporting characters! I especially loved Billie, Callums younger brother who has epilepsy and is also gay. I hope we see a future story for him! Also I would love a story for Tate.
This is one of my favorite m/m books! It's official! I love it! I will be reading The Darkest Flame very soon!!!!

Another really good "opposites attract" story. I seem to read a lot of those lately. I really liked the first book in this series and I hoped this one would be good too. Even though both books are completely different from one another, I loved both. I really like it when an author does that.
So about the story....city and country collide ;)
Dean is an out and proud, geeky collegeboy. He is also Cassie's roommate.
When Cassie asks him to accompany her, to a family wedding at home and act as her fake date, Dean has no problems helping her out. He just wasn't prepared to meet the hot brother.
Callum is a closeted, hard working countryboy. Nobody knows he is gay, except for his occasional hook-ups. Not even Cassie. Callum is too worried about his family and the bussiness to come out. But he can't help but feel extremely attracted to his sister's date. He tries to hide his attraction behind snarky remarks.
Both don't know the other is gay....that is untill they share a very sweet kiss. This is followed by another sweet kiss and so much more....with an albino peacock watching them...lol
Callum is affraid family bussiness will go down, when he comes out, but he also doesn't want to t hide this part of himself any longer. So he comes out to his sister first. After this, he will have to face the rest of his family.
This book was a nice slow burn with some awesome sexual tension. I loved these boys together. I think the first book was a bit steamier, but I didn't really mind, since there were still some panty-dropping scenes in this one ;)
The book is very low on angst. Most of the angst is centered about Callums coming out, but I have to say...I loved his family. Especially Granny and Billie. We don't really get to read about Deans family.
I really enjoyed this one and I hope there will be another book in this series.
