Is evil real? Does it prowl around like a lion searching for its next victim?

Sam Langstrom knows the answer to those questions. He’s known since he was a child. Evil is not only real, but his birthright.

But can a man change his destiny?

With God’s help, Sam believes he’s put the ghosts of his childhood behind him. Now a preacher with a wife and a child of his own, life is good. Right up until that moment when his house explodes in front of his eyes—with his new-born baby inside.

The ghosts are back.

He has one chance to save his child, but to do so means to turn his back on God. Will he accept his birthright—bow down to the evil? Will he give the lion its final victory—his soul?

BIRTHRIGHT eBook Lillian Duncan

I don't normally read these kind of books but it showed how good and evil war against one another and in this book the good won. It was a dark book concerning God versus Satan. God wins. It shows how a person can get wrapped up in themselves to the point that they look to evil for their problems instead of God and mercy. It is a little scary and sad that one person can destroy many lives. Thank goodness for the people that stand firm with God. This book is about a family destroyed by one person's evil association with Satanism, but the one family member fights it and wins.
I am glad I read it. It shows these things are still going on today.

BIRTHRIGHT eBook Lillian Duncan Reviews

Love her books not this one.
I just finished this book and it is a powerful read. Lillian has painted a verbal picture of the battle between good and evil that, if it weren't for the assurance that through Christ we have the victory, would have been a difficult book to read. I read the book in one setting because after I got into the story line I couldn't put it down. She has captured the very essence of evil in the characters in the book, but more importantly she has also captured the very essence of God's love and protection and pictured in a powerful way the victory that comes through complete trust and dependence on Him.
I read this book fairly quickly and liked the fast paced suspense that this writer often brings. I felt this book was a bit predictable but I loved it anyway.
A lot of suspense in this book about evil, some unbelievable. Truth is revealed in how some want to put money, prestige, pride and greed as their god's. The truth comes out in the end as God overcomes evil and is always there when we need him most.
One of those books you can’t put down. I couldn’t wait to see how she was going to put it together. What a great mind to think this story up and still make it part of today Christian Life. Great job.
What a shame I can't give this book 5 stars, but Lillian Duncan continues to fail to edit her books. The result is that what could be a stellar book ends up giving Christian writers a black eye by making them seem inept. Ms. Duncan has a gift for storyline, but lack of attention to easily remedied errors is distracting.
Birthright wasn't what I expected when I selected and then began reading it. It's a fast paced read that pits God against the devil in the lives of primarily a pastor from his youth to his young adult life. That the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he will devour is all too real in this story. In the end, as always, trusting God in the midst of terrifying evil is the only Way to delivery and victory. Birthright is an exciting read, but I would have preferred not reading so much about the evil rituals at the beginning. I could almost feel the evil.
